Izaka-Ya by Katsu-Ya in Manhattan Beach

I celebrated my PhD yesterday in this gorgeous place. Well we had a fine evening and the restaurant was unquestionably the reason for this strong evening. The stuff helped in a lovely style, the meals were delicious and my buddies were extremely delighted. We shall definitely visit again for more joyful events. Thank you very much.

Really nice ambiance and delicious food. I would definitely recommend and return. There was nothing weird or bad to complain about. Nothing unusual to point out. It was just a super nice place for Japanese sushi that's casual. It would be great for a family to enjoy dinner or to bring a date.

GET A RESERVATION!!!!! You definitely need one. The seafood is so fresh and the speciality rolls are killer!!! My favorite place in South Bay for sushi is this location!!! I highly recommend....

Great, trendy, Japanese eatery located in the heart of Manhattan Beach. As is typical with the area, the space is not that large which means that you should either make reservations or give it a shot during less popular hours. The menu is precise but offers a good variety. You won't find a long list of sushi items but they do have some house specials. You can't go wrong with what ever you pick.

We LOVED this place - what a great end to our night. Everything we had hit the spot, well maybe not the meatballs. We love sitting at the sushi bar - see the magic happening in the back, conversing with the staff, always asking questions. Food: the menu isn't as extensive as a normal sushi place. They know what they are great at and stick to it. Of course they have the common rolls, etc. but check out the pics - rice to filling ratio, on point! Ambiance: it's a small, local sushi bar - it was packed with locals, and is buzzing. If you know what you like, you're in and out - don't know, stay a while, soak it in. Service: FAST - they know how to turn tables without making it apparent.

We met with friends at this spot for lunch. we heard about this restaurant from many people. Well, it was very nice. The staff were extremely nice and we felt excellent. The food was just great. We enjoyed every moment and we will definitely return to this restaurant. we highly recommend this place.

Fresh Sushi - always busy - lively crowd. By far the best sushi in Manhattan Beach if not Los Angeles County. Friendly staff - convenient location - and some amazing and unique menu choices. If you go once - you will go many more times. Make a reservation at night...its a mob scene - in a good way !

We had a great experience on a busy Friday night. Sushi was amazing. Service was good. No doubt it was crowded but most places in downtown are this time of year. Especially the good ones. I felt the staff and kitchen handled everything well and we had an awesome night and the best sushi I’ve had in a long time.Baked crab, rainbow roll off the charts, real crab. Custom made a few with the waiter that came out awesome. We will be back. Cheers

A little pricey but it's because they're using very high quality fish. The oo-toro was beautiful. The flavors in each dish we had worked wonderfully and were well thought out. I've also been here on Valentine's Day and remember their specials being amazing then too. A great place to come for special occasions.

It breaks my heart to give this place 3 stars. This is my favorite sushi place but they have not adapt to the new to go/take out way. :( I’ve ordered a pick up order today ... $75 Later, 15 min in line, my order came home with cold miso soup and missing a special roll. Called and they said to come back and grab the missing roll like I live a cross the street. Please, please, get organized. I love you guys and will hate to think otherwise.

Great taste of sashimi and lobster. Should order drinks as well. Spent about $60.
